On Friday, Oct. 29, 2015 the last beam was installed at the new Anne Arundel Hall facility at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Project stakeholders Trustee Michael O’ Brien, Historic St. Mary’s City’s Gina Faden, and Delegates Tony O’Donnell and Deborah Rey joined St. Mary’s College Vice President Chip Jackson and President Tuajuanda C. Jordan to commemorate the occasion. After brief remarks, those in attendance were invited to sign the beam before it was hoisted into the building’s structure. Anne Arundel Hall will be home to an Historic St. Mary’s City museum and to the college’s departments of anthropology, international languages and cultures, museum studies, and the Center for the Study of Democracy. The building will be open for classes in fall 2016.
